Admission of foreign applicants holding foreign study certificates to study at German universities: proof of German language skills in accordance with the decision of the Standing Conference of 2.6.1995, version of 12.12.2007 There are admission requirements specific to each Master`s programme. Generally, you must have a bachelor`s degree in the same or a related subject. However, some programs of study have other requirements, such as an internship. These requirements are part of the admission regulations. Since these subject-specific requirements are determined individually for each program of study, you must inform yourself in advance about the admission rules for the program of study you have chosen. What exactly are the formal requirements for admission to a program of study? PLEASE NOTE: From an application for the summer semester 2022, citizens of Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland holding a foreign Master`s entry degree also need a language certificate at the required level. The formal prerequisite for master`s programmes is a qualification that allows its holder to study in a master`s programme, i.e. a completed undergraduate degree (e.g. a bachelor`s degree). In addition to this formal requirement, you must also meet the subject-specific requirements for admission to a master`s program. See below for details. Please note, however, that some German language programs also require proof of English language skills. Please refer to the subject-specific admission requirements of your study programme to find out what language skills are required. Proof of German language proficiency is required for all German-language study programs, unless you have a university entrance degree under German law.
In addition to formal requirements, there are often subject-specific requirements for master`s programs. Most Master`s programmes at TU Berlin are taught in German. However, some courses are taught in English as part of these German language study programmes, so you will need to provide proof of relevant language skills when applying.
