Counseling Services provides confidential individual, group, and couple counseling available to all students enrolled at Northern Arizona University. NAUPD provides law enforcement services to the campus community, including criminal activity investigations and victim assistance. The Health and Learning Centre (HLC) offers many resources, including flu shots, acupuncture, mental health, physiotherapy, massage therapy, immediate care, vaccinations, allergy clinic and nutrition. HLC Counseling Services provides short-term individual and couple counselling, group counseling, crisis services, outreach services and counseling on affected students. Academic peer mentors are current NAU students who work one-on-one with students to develop strong learning skills inside and outside the classroom. Academic peer mentors will help you manage your time, take exams, learn reading and writing skills, succeed in online and blended learning course formats, and help you connect with academic support such as tutoring. The NAU campus is packed on a typical school day. Motorists try to make their way through thousands of students walking through streets, parking lots and sidewalks. Pedestrian areas are safe when used correctly. Never assume that a vehicle can see you.

Always try to make eye contact with the driver. Campus Living offers crisis intervention services through community assistants or community coordinators upon request. Key services include: Disability Resources (DR) leads collaboration with students, faculty, staff and the campus community to create a universal design environment and facilitates the removal of existing barriers to the full inclusion of people with disabilities. They provide free services and accommodations to all Northern Arizona University students who have up-to-date documentation of a disability that significantly limits one or more important life activities, including, but not limited to, walking, talking, learning, listening, or seeing. Employee Assistance and Wellness provides confidential guidance to all eligible Northern Arizona University faculty and staff and their family members covered by the Northern Arizona University Health Plan. Crisis guidance and intervention services are available to all staff at Northern Arizona University. NACASA provides medical and forensic examinations in a calm and tranquil environment for victims, as well as emergency contraception and medication to prevent STDs and HIV. NACASA services are free and anonymous.

They promote a multidisciplinary team intervention approach, including access to: The Office of Student Rights and Duties has an open-door policy and ensures that staff are available for consultation on a variety of issues, including disciplinary proceedings. This office also collects anonymous reports of sexual assault and other forms of gender-based violence. Medical services provide medical examinations to help identify and treat trauma, as well as tests for sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy. Psychiatric services are also available. Follow all traffic lights. Never assume that a driver can see you or predict where you`re going. A bicycle car accident is always extremely serious. We have lost several NAU students in recent years because vehicles have hit cyclists (even though the cyclist did nothing wrong). So, be careful there. Peer Jack`s Mentoring is a program designed to mentor our out-of-state freshmen attending NAU to help them make a successful transition to college and life in Flagstaff. The program provides a peer network to support the transition to college. Peer Jacks also offers educational and social opportunities that support a path to academic success. By developing self-direction and encouraging learning outside the classroom, we empower students to achieve independence during their studies.

NAU`s transfer and online connections provide peer mentorship, resources and activities for new transfer and online students. Through these support services, OCD`s goal is to make the transition to college as smooth as possible and help students succeed at NAU. We hope you find these resources useful! Coconino County Victim and Witness Services offers free crisis intervention and victim advocacy services 24 hours a day in a confidential setting. The Teacher Training University offers students free personalized advice during their internship. Counselling is provided by graduate students supervised by professionals at NAU who are training to become licensed counsellors and psychologists. The NAU Office of the Student Legal Counsel, through its counsel, provides advice and referrals to outside counsel as necessary to help you protect your legal rights.
